Self Register Your Carry Conceal Handgun (Voluntary)
Halifax Community College strives to ensure that everyone who visits our campuses is safe from bodily harm or threats.    The State of North Carolina has passed legislation that allows people with a valid carry conceal permit to bring their personal protection weapon onto an educational campus.  The law requires that the weapon be stored in a lock box or glove box or secured in the trunk of the vehicle out of plain sight and not easily accessible.  The permit holder is not allowed to display, carry or leave in a manner that would allow someone to have access to it.   This would be a violation of the Carry Conceal Permit Law and you could be charged accordingly.

We are offering a voluntary registration of your weapon and your permit to help track the number of weapons on our campuses.    We respect your right to carry and want to ensure that everyone’s safety is protected.   If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Campus Law Enforcement Officers or Chief of Campus Security.

We will need the serial number, make, model and caliber of the weapon.    This information will assist with law enforcement in the event of a break-in or theft of your weapon while on campus.  Your information will be kept confidential and secure.
