What do you need to be able to create your own career? What opportunities are available for younger females to close the gender gap and achieve top positions?

These questions are at stake in the Career Lab for female PhD’s, a mixture between a workshop, a lunch (tea :-)) meeting, and a networking event. With 12 to 30 colleagues you will jointly explore what you –individually and collectively-
can undertake to advance your career in the desired direction. And what can support you.

This event will be organized by P-NUT together with the Female Faculty Network Twente (FFNT). In the 2015 survey of FFNT, many female PhD’s have indicated their interest for activities around career development, opportunities especially for women, dealing with gender differences, and work-life balance. FFNT and PNUT decided to work together, and offer an attractive workshop/event for female PhD’s, focusing on ‘career development’ first.

To create and host the event, we invited Arielle Brouwer. She has worked for UT as a freelance coach, trainer, facilitator and program developer since 2005. Arielle has extended experience in women’s professional development, she’s called knowledgeable, creative, trustworthy and personable.

PROGRAM
Participants will be provided with:
>introduction about careers in the current/future labor market, the need for dynamic steering and the required competencies (flexibility, resilience)
>self-assessment: personal & career development
>joint exploration: what do you need to create your own career? Choice of 3-6 questions/subjects to explore deeper
>experience based learning: exercises for inner strength and personal leadership
>sharing information about special grants and prices for women (with input from FFNT, PNUT, and you all)
