Many rooms of Varner Hall are locked for reasons of security and equipment control. These rooms are used by students in need of the instruments, equipment, and/or specific space because of their skill level, the nature of their study or job.

IMPORTANT:

  • Return Deadline:
    Students must return the keys by the last day of Winter term, April 20th, 2026.

  • Email Notification:
    Send an email to mtdroom@oakland.edu with the following details:

    • Student Name
    • Instructor Name
    • Room number
    • Key code number (a 4-5 digit alphanumeric code engraved on the key)
  • Return the Key:
    Place the key in the secure drop box located outside the main SMTD offices (Room 207).

*Requests for extensions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
