The House of Wisdom Tutor Application
Thank you for your interest in becoming a tutor! 

As a tutor, you will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to students in Math and/or English, empowering them to achieve their academic goals while creating an enjoyable learning experience. We provide tutoring for students ranging from kindergarten to adults. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Adaptability and able to think on the fly
  • Commitment to helping students succeed
  • Math Tutor: At least a strong grasp of elementary math concepts or equivalent foundational knowledge
  • English Tutor: At least successful completion of high school-level English class with demonstrated clear communication skills.
  • Multilingual tutors preferred (but not required)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions to students in Math/English for 2-6 hrs/week (flexible schedule depending on location)
  • Assist our students with understanding the "how" and the "why" of the concepts they're learning
  • Evaluate each student's skill level and tailor lesson plans according to individual student's needs and learning styles 
  • Teach and guide our English learning students using our provided curriculum and lesson plans (English tutors)
  • Monitor student's progress and provide feedback to parents and teachers as needed
