The word madrich/ah comes from the same root as the word derech which means “way.” As a madrich/a, you must be prepared to show young kids the right way to behave toward other people, how to learn, how to demonstrate respect, and how to pray.  This means that you will also have to be a learner as well as a teacher.  There will be several Madrichim training sessions scheduled throughout the year, starting with an orientation in late August, which you will be expected to attend.
