ReLeaf Cville's Mission

ReLeaf Cville is rooted in a simple truth: trees save lives—so we save trees. We protect the health of Charlottesville by expanding and maintaining the tree canopy, focusing on neighborhoods impacted by rising heat as the climate changes. We do this by planting trees, preserving mature trees, and educating the next generation of environmental leaders.

THE PROBLEM

Charlottesville’s trees are dying or being cut down at an alarming rate, causing many city neighborhoods to be “heat islands,” impacting our friends and families' health.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

You can save trees and earn $400+! Sign up for the Green Team and learn about trees. Then, get your hands dirty planting them.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM US?

✓Seven to eight, 4-hour training sessions during June or July.
✓Including activities such as an overnight adventure, rafting the Rivanna River, the UVA ropes course, learning to climb trees like a professional arborist, and more events throughout the year.
✓$400+ throughout the year.
✓Other perks, such as free meals, gift certificates and field trips.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
✓ Attend all training sessions unless you have an accepted excuse.
✓ Commit to caring for trees and nature.
✓ Commit to planting trees in a neighborhood.
✓ Answer text, emails or phone calls.
