We are looking for enthusiastic staff, students, parents and community to help
represent and support the diverse cultural backgrounds of our student and community body at
the upcoming Multicultural Fashion Show.
As a participant, you may assist those who are showcasing their cultural fashion, who may be fellow teachers, students, or parents or community members, in preparing their
fashion looks, selecting music, and providing brief cultural introductions to
celebrate their heritage. Additionally, you may be asked to help with other
aspects of the fashion show, ensuring it is fun and successful. Thank you for

Project Manager/Event Coordinator – (G. Anderson; Maurice Stevenson; Angela Green) Coordinates and executes events to ensure they run smoothly, stay on schedule, and meet their objectives.
Facilitator/Scheduler—(B. Harness) Works with the project manager and event coordinators to schedule meetings, send out invites, and facilitate them.
Fashion Coordinator - Oversee clothing selection for the fashion show, ensuring it reflects diverse cultures. Coordinate fittings, prepare models, and handle wardrobe issues during rehearsals and the show.
Walkers/Trotters/Model - Showcasing cultural outfits/fashion at the fashion show to enhance creativity and support the community. No experience needed.
Walkers/Trotters/Model Coordinators—Manage those who will be showcasing their cultural fashion for the show by selecting them, organizing fittings, coordinating rehearsals, and ensuring they know their routines and timing.
Hostess/Concierge – Helps with seating and ushering in and out.
Volunteer Coordinator – Recruit, train, and organize volunteers to assist on the event day. Volunteers may help with backstage organization, ticketing, crowd management, or assisting participants and attendees.
Decorations and Set Design. Collaborates with the stage manager and leads the design of the show environment, including cultural displays, backdrops, banners, and decorations that enhance the multicultural theme.
Technical Team, Lighting and Sound - Manage the event's technical aspects, including sound, lighting, and multimedia components such as video projections and music playlists.
Stage/Walkway/Runway Manager/Lead – Coordinating the stage and walkway, ensuring models know when to walk, managing last-minute issues, and directing the show’s flow from backstage.
Event Logistics Manager/Lead—Oversee all logistics for the event, including venue arrangements, trotters/walkers/strutters/models and participants, and equipment needs such as microphones and lighting. Ensure everything is set up correctly on the event day.
Sponsors and Fundraising – Reach out to potential sponsors and donors for the fashion show, a fundraising event supporting DuVal High School and the PTSA.
Marketing and PR – Ensures the marketing strategy is implemented to promote the event within the school and the local community. Responsibilities could include socializing on social media sites, designing flyers, managing social media accounts, handling press releases, and securing any local press coverage to boost awareness of the fashion show.
Hair and Makeup – Ensure that all walkers/trotters/strutters/models have their hair and makeup done according to the look or style that aligns with their cultural attire. This team ensures that those showcasing their fashion are stage-ready and look their best.
Cultural liaison - Ensure the fashion show respectfully represents diverse cultures through authentic clothing and cultural elements.
