Volunteers are needed during the kindergarten and first grade lunches. Duties would include assisting the lunchroom monitors and helping our little ones open items they can't open on their own: milk cartons, ketchup packets, etc. Kindergarten lunch is 10:42am - 11:21am and first grade is 11:03am - 11:42am. Any amount of time you can volunteer would be appreciated.
Milk 4 Many
Children who have not opened their milk and juice cartons can recycle them instead of throwing the cartons in the trash. After lunch, volunteers deliver the goods to Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) where it is made available to families in need. This job is a 45 minute commitment from 1:15-2pm once a month per person. You will pick up the recycled milk from Exley in coolers and take it to KCM, then bring the coolers back to Exley.

Education Enrichment Opportunities
This is a grade-level specific program provided by the school district. Volunteers teach one economic-based curriculum lesson each week for six weeks in grades K-2. Grades 3rd-5th have JA in a Day and it would be an all day event where you would teach the same lesson to all the classes. Training is required for first time volunteers but can be done at your convenience with our campus JA coordinator in the Exley Library.
Science Enrichment Lab
Exley PTA has a wonderful Science Enrichment program we provide for each grade level once every six weeks. Volunteers are needed for 40 minute shifts to assist students with experiments. No experience needed and instructions are provided the day of the event. Look for emails and notices in the ENews, first lab will be in late Fall.
Every six weeks volunteers organize a special themed luncheon for the teachers. Each luncheon is sponsored by a specific grade level, and volunteers from that grade are needed to assist with donations, set up and clean up. Parents in that grade will receive information about dates, times and requested items via ENews or your homeroom parent. The volunteer commitment is flexible – you may choose to attend the event and help or send in a donated item with your child.
During Teacher Appreciation Week the PTA provides special lunches, breakfasts, and other treats for the teachers each day. Volunteers are needed each day during the week to help with that day’s special event. Volunteers are also needed to put together gifts for the teachers this can be done at home.
