Parade Regulations and Liability Waiver
Due to insurance precautions, we will once again be asking that you sign this release form.
Regulations:
A float is not required for parade participation. Groups of individuals may walk in the parade if they wish.
If you will be throwing candy, please be sure to throw it as close to the curb as you can. We want to keep our little ones as safe as possible by keeping them from running out into the road. I know it's not an easy task, but we can try.
If you have a horn or other type of loud noise, please turn it off when your entry reaches the EQB Monument (intersection of University Ave. and Texas Ave.). There are those who do not like to hear the sirens and they will be seated at or near the hospital.
The consumption of alcohol or other illegal substances is strictly prohibited before and during the parade. Anyone suspected of being in violation of this policy will be asked to leave immediately.
If you will be riding a motorcycle or 4-wheeler, you will wear your helmet and be very cautious of your driving. Remember, there are children all along the parade route. Your help in this will be greatly appreciated.
In acknowledgement of the celebration being for the independence of the United States, participants will not fly or display any paraphernalia of the Confederacy.
Parade officials have the authority to remove any parade entry for violation of any of the above rules.
Waiver:
The undersigned expressly acknowledges that the activities of the parade (including pre- and post- parade activities) are dangerous and involve the risk of serious injury, death and/or property damage. The undersigned agrees to indemnify, defend and hold harmless the University of the South and its affiliates, employees, agents and representatives connected with the parade for any personal injuries, property loss or damage suffered by any person as a result of the actions of the parade participants connected to the group, float or individuals.
