Duke-UNC CLS 2013 Application

Note to Non-Duke/UNC Delegates: CLS is a free conference open to both graduate and undergraduate participants, inclusive of board and food, but exclusive of airfare or other transportation to Raleigh-Durham. We highly encourage accepted delegates to apply to any travel grants available at their academic institution. We also offer a merit scholarship to cover travel expenses to select delegates. If, for financial reasons you cannot attend the conference we may be able to offer a scholarship based on financial need. Please note that we expect you to attend all three days of the conference if you are selected for CLS 2013.

The CLS selection committee seeks to admit delegates who demonstrate some, but not necessarily all of the following characteristics:
• A demonstrated interest in US-China relations
• Engagement in relevant research
• Previous travel or study abroad experience in China
• Knowledge or curiosity of the impact of technology on the US-China dynamic
• Desire to forge international relationships with young leaders at peer universities
• A desire to utilize the strong presence of Research Triangle Park in the area
• A genuine interest in networking with like-minded students, professors, and professionals
