CWC Honorary Degree Nomination Form
The Associate of Humane Letters is Central Wyoming College’s honorary degree. It does not confer academic credentials, but instead recognizes extraordinary achievement and community contributions. Anyone can nominate a community member from CWC’s service district of Fremont, Teton or Hot Springs counties.

Goals for the CWC Honorary Degree, the Associate of Humane Letters (AHL):
*To build stronger community relationships throughout the CWC service area.
*To recognize the value of the community to CWC.
*To inspire students.

Criteria
Honorary degrees recognize those who have made significant and enduring contributions to the culture or quality of life in the communities that CWC serves. Contributions should impact a community at large; not CWC specifically.
Honorary degrees are given only to persons of great integrity.
Honorees are people who inspire students through their example.
Special consideration will be given to nominees who have not completed a formal higher education program.
Eligibility
*This degree will not be conferred in exchange for a donation or gift to the college, and will not be conferred with the goal of
 garnering influence with an honoree who has political, financial, or media power.
*Normally, honorees will be living.
*Employees of CWC, members of the Board of Trustees, and members of the CWC Foundation Board are not eligible. Employees,
 trustees, and Foundation board members who have been separated from CWC for at least three years may be nominated.
*Honorary degrees may not be awarded to currently elected or appointed officials at the local, state or national levels to whom
 the College is directly or indirectly answerable. Declared candidates for such offices are also not eligible. Officials who have
 been out of office for at least three years may be nominated.
*Normally, CWC will award no more than one honorary degree per academic year.
Deadline to submit this form: February 21, 2022
This award will be conferred at commencement on Friday, May 6, 2022 or in an alternative commencement celebration if necessary due to the pandemic.
