The Armenian Genocide, one of the most tragic events happening in the background of WWI, resulted in 1,5 million innocent lives lost due to Ottoman Turkey. To commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Genocide, and to discuss human rights amidst ethnic cleansings, we invite you to join our panel with Artak Beglaryan and Jehanne Henry. The speakers will shed light on forms of genocide and ethnic cleansing, with particular focus on Nagorno Karabakh and Sudan, and talk about the role of international courts, accountability and justice mechanisms, and pathways for reparations and reconciliation.
The event will take place on April 24th, 2025 at Teachers College, Horace Mann 150. We will hold a regular panel from 12 pm to 1 pm and will continue with a Q&A session. An authentic Armenian lunch will be served from 12 pm to 2 pm.
