With the success and positive impact of our music programme from 2018-24, we have brought back The Collective for a fifth round in 2026!
The Collective is an accredited Artist Development Programme for aspiring musicians (vocalists, singers and MC’s from across London) between the ages 11-25 years old.
This unique programme is designed to support aspiring young musicians to develop their talents and to produce socially conscious music.
The programme will have sessions on vocal training, lyric writing, music production, confidence and performance techniques. Each training session will be led by Music Leaders who are specialists in their subject area. There will also be an Arts Award Facilitator present at the sessions to lead the group work, enabling the artists to complete and be awarded with a Bronze Arts Award at the end of the programme.
The aspiring young musicians will work towards the creation of original music (some as collectives, some as soloists) that are inspired by social issues and topics in London. The selected artists will also have the opportunity to work in a recording studio to record their tracks and produce a collective album - to be published online for streaming. After the training sessions and studio time – the artists will take part in rehearsal sessions before we host a live performance, showcasing all the original music created by the young people. Artists who show particular commitment and promise will be invited to discuss being managed by You Press for paid performances as freelance artists.
The next Artist Development Programme will be taking place provisionally from July 2026. The sessions will take place
every Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 5pm-8pm, subject to change.
