Women of the Portuguese Games Industry (WPGI) is an initiative that aims to create a network of women working in all domains that make up the Portuguese games industry - women of all nationalities working in Portugal, or Portuguese women working abroad - to make ourselves known to our colleagues and foster solidarity among us, and to elevate our voices and increase our representation within the larger game development community.

We aim to use our collective experience as women who work in this male dominated environment to empower each other, especially aspiring students and junior professional women and girls who want to work in the games industry. We believe that by making the incredibly talented pool of women working in this industry known to the general public, providing relatable role-models, and passing on our knowledge and tools to thrive as a woman in the games industry, we can fight against the loss of female talent that faces increased burnout rates due to the toxic environments that stem from inside and out of the game development community.
