Considering that neighborhood organizations in the City of Minneapolis, for more than forty years, continue to use a wide range of programs + services, events, meetings, and partnerships to help enrich and enliven our communities, I declare this work is important.
Given the operational challenges that most neighborhood organizations face, as small-but-mighty non-profits, there is a clear opportunity to aid these organizations’ ability to determine if one or more alternative operational structures can increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability in their approach to community-centered civic engagement. I soberly acknowledge that neighborhood organizations have served into the right to explore ways to operate that further advance their missional aims.
In light of the emerging One South initiative, which currently includes eight neighborhood organizations from South Minneapolis, and that seeks to identify and model a new era of collaboration, sustainability, and growth for community-centered civic engagement across neighborhood organizations, I proudly sign this Community Partner Pledge of support to help demonstrate that One South has unequivocal and measurable support from community.
