The ICHD Internship program provides an opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse backgrounds to engage in career exploration and gain valuable work experience in a policy institute. The internship is as opportunity to work with ICHD staff in various policy areas, including foreign and economic policies, public and local governance, health and education policies, gender equality and empowerment of women, conflict resolution and civil society development.
Interns will have the opportunity to attend internal meetings, local think tank events, and professional development workshops. Our projects usually engage high-level policy makers, opinion leaders and other key stakeholders in both public and private sectors, and thus, interns have an opportunity to build or extend their professional networks. The internship program offers a chance to gain professional skills and experience required by most employers, such as effective time management and communication, problem solving and team work, research and reporting skills.
Internships are offered throughout a year, but are project-bound, i.e. the availability of an internship opportunity depends on the scope of work within a specific project. Interns are assigned to one or more project teams and work directly with our leading researchers, trainers and advocacy professionals, who provide mentorship through the whole internship.
Please note that this is an unpaid internship.
The ideal candidate we are looking for should be:
• willing to work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment, and at the same time take initiative for independent work;
• able to work efficiently under time pressure;
• attentive to detail;
• knowledgeable of political and economic trends in Armenia, the South Caucasus and the world;
• proficient in at least one foreign language.
