2025/26 Food Group Sign-Up
The Food Group is seeking to alleviate childhood hunger in Sheridan County, Wyoming by providing food to children on the weekends.
Many children are relying heavily on the food they receive in school. We report frequent instances where food for children on the weekend is not necessarily a guarantee.
The Food Group is a community based and supported nonprofit corporation whose goal is simple: Create a weekend food pack containing a whole meal that a child, with some adult help, would be able to prepare to feed themselves , and even a sibling or two, over the weekend.
By providing healthy food for the weekend, The Food Group gives students the opportunity to come to school on Monday morning ready to learn.The future of any society depends on its ability to foster the health and well-being of the next generation.
This "backpack" model has been used successfully in many other communities in Wyoming and nationally. The Food Group is a 501(c) organization and continues to rely solely on local funding.
By working with the local retailers, The Food Group will be able to deliver food packs to over 500 students and families at school.
This program is anonymous, open to any child and provided at no cost. Food bags will be sent home every Thursday or Friday.
