Through this form, you can register as a researcher or SFL teacher for the international conference "The acquisition and development of pragmatic competence". The event is organised in the framework of the Erasmus+ project
PRACOMUL: Pragmatic competence from a multilingual perspective (2020 -1-BE02-KA203-074742) involving the University of Seville (Spain), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), Università degli Studi di Palermo (Italy) and Univerza v Ljubljani (Slovenia).
The conference will take place from
28 to 30 August 2023 at the
Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Participation is free of charge (except for the coffee and lunch breaks and the conference dinner - planned 29 August -, which have an additional cost).
The congress is organised in a hybrid way. All
lectures are to be
presented in person,
but digital attendance to these lecture
is possible.
As the workshops for teachers will have a practical format, only a selected amount of workshops will be offered to be followed online. The complete programme will be published by the end of June.
Researchers are invited to present their work on (1) SFL (Spanish as a foreign language) learning and cross-linguistic pragmatics, or (2) discourse cohesion and pragmatic operators.
We also invite SFL teachers to attend the presentation of the PRACOMUL platform and several workshops on the development of pragmatic competence in the SFL classroom, and/or to present, if they wish, a workshop related to the theme of this conference.
Interested students can attend the lectures/workshops of their choice.
The languages in which lectures can be held are Spanish and English, but all lectures need to be focused on SFL or Spanish in contact with other languages.
