PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BEFORE YOU APPLY!

* We are a 100% volunteer based rescue, so it takes time to process your application (2-4 weeks depending on volume.) Everyone in our organization is an UNPAID VOLUNTEER. Everyone works full time jobs and have families of their own - so please be patient!!! We do NOT do same day adoptions we complete physical home inspections (some are done virtually or by local volunteers), vet checks, reference checks and criminal history checks on ALL applicants to be sure the home is the right fit for the animal.

Renters: if you are applying for a Giant breed dog, it is often very difficult to adopt to a renter. The problem is not typically the current home but the next you want to move to that will not accept your 150 pound dog. There are some exceptions, but we get 38% of our dogs surrendered due to renters. We do not want our dogs to have to come back to us because you cannot find a place to live that will accept your dog. Please be sure you have a plan in place, have spoken to your landlord as we will call them.

Homeowners: We will check property records if you state you own your home to verify this information.

Fences are not required for all animals and we do allow some animals to live in apartments - we will choose the home that is best suited for the animal's needs - all fosters & adopted animals must be on leash 100% of the time if not in a fenced yard. All dogs (over 6 months) and cats typically stay in our rescue typically 6-12 weeks so that we can properly evaluate temperament and place them accordingly, so please understand we do not adopt out fast - you must be willing to wait so we know we are placing the dog in the RIGHT home. I promise its always worth the wait and our less than 2% return rate speaks for itself! If you do not get the dog or cat you apply for, do not lose hope - we will find the right match for you!

If you do not fill out your application ENTIRELY and provide proper information, we will return it to you rejected and request you do another one. PLEASE IMMEDIATELY call your Vets and release records to us, please call your references and tell them you have applied and its extremely important they call us back if we call. Applications that take a long time are typically due to this reason, a vet will not give us information without your permission or your reference doesn't call back. We must speak to each of them on the phone, this is not something we will do through text.

*Vet checks - we will verify that rabies, DHPP, boardtella, and heartworm prevention are current for dogs. Rabies and FVRCP for cats. If a vet does titer testing, this will be accepted as uptodate. Rabies and DHPP are non-negotiable, these have to be reasonably uptodate for dogs. Cat vaccines, boardtella, and heartworm prevention, will be required before adoption can be finalized. we will do a conditional approval if these vaccines are missing.

* ADOPTIONS - Adoptions are available NATIONWIDE! We will send you an email upon receipt of your application to collect the fee, this is credited towards your adoption fee. We do provide transport NATIONWIDE or allow pick-ups. All adoption fees are paid up front, once contracts are signed, along with any estimated transport costs. Transport costs are estimated gas, tolls and hotel for every 12 hours (dog time is much longer than driving time, most 12 hour drives take 14-16 when traveling with dogs). The adopter may donate funds to their transporter if desired for their time, but otherwise our transporters are volunteers and must cover their own food and expenses along the way. We do charge a $25 in state or $50 out of state vehicle maintenance fee that goes toward the costs of rescue vehicles & trailer maintenance (oil changes, tires, etc.) We do not charge for time, food or any other expense but donations are always welcomed. 100% of all transport funds are put toward gas, tolls, lodging, tires, oil changes, brakes and all basic care/maintenance of our rescue vehicles - our transporters do not get anything for their time. Typically we do multiple adoptions per transport to be able to lower costs for adopters splitting the trip costs, but you must be patient and flexible with delivery times. We do charge round trip costs. We also charge a $100 health certificate fee for states that require it.

***We do have some dogs that are marked for no children under the age of 16. These are for dogs that have a history of behavioral, major medical or aggression issues, as we rehabilitate, re-train and rescue some dogs with these types of issues.

* FOSTERS are needed Nationwide until a forever home is chosen, if out of state from our HQ in Oklahoma, typically all vetting will be done prior to delivery of a foster animal to your home or we will work with a private vet or low cost clinic near you to get this done. We cannot operate or save lives without fosters! APPLY to help save lives! If you are out of state, we need you to have experience as we are not just down the street, sometimes this means you might need to crate and rotate if everything isn't going perfectly. We will always try to place the right one with the right family but there are some things we cannot be aware of, understanding that rescues need lots of time to adjust is imperative. All fosters have the first right to adopt, however if we transport it to you across the nation and you wish to adopt, you will reimburse the rescue the costs of transport as all adopters do.

* FOSTER-TO-ADOPT - Many rescues classify this specific type of situation differently. Please read our terms of FTA

FTA (test drive) homes are ONLY allowed in OKLAHOMA, due to vetting requirements. This is a "test drive" to adopt. This is NOT allowed for OUT of state adopters. This is literally like having a sleepover for a few weeks to be sure the dog is a good fit for your family. We do not allow these out of state from the location you are adopting from. We currently have locations is Oklahoma (headquarters), Michigan and Indiana.

FTA (Medical or Unaltered) - this is essentially an adoption, but remains a foster until certain conditions are met. This FTA is allowed Nationwide if it is a longer term medical case (ex: heartworms) or for reasons of medical care or early spay/neuter. We DO NOT DO SPAY/NEUTER CONTRACTS. If you wish for a giant breed puppy to be spayed/neutered between 6-24 months for health reasons, you will sign a foster to adopt contract, pay your adoption fees up front and we will maintain ownership until the animal is altered. All foster to adopt fees must be paid up front, including delivery and are considered a non refundable donation. Any out of state FTA will still pay transport costs for their dog, as stated above for adopters, as the intention is to fully adopt.

* EMERGENCY FOSTER - we do allow out of state fostering or temporary fosters nationwide for emergency situations where we are trying to save an animal from a shelter or bad situation, until we can get there to pick it up or arrange transport back to us. This can be a few days or up to 8 weeks, depending on transport arrangements.

* TRANSPORTERS - This is for those who want to help with transportation of animals from out of state to our care or from our care to an out of state approved foster home. We do sometimes do transport chains which means each person drives around 100 miles each to the next leg of transport. Transporters that do full trips (ex: Illinois to Oklahoma) are paid actual cost of gas and tolls, sometimes hotel will also be provided depending on length of transport. Transport chains pay the costs of their individual legs.

* Adoption fees: We provide all medical care up to date: Shots (DHPP, BORDATELLA, RABIES) per age appropriate, deworming, spay/neuter, current flea/tick/heartworm prevention, microchipping and a current health exam/check. The costs of all medical, grooming, training, supplies, food and care far exceed the cost of the adoption fees listed below. All records and proof of all vetting are provided upon adoption to the adopter. We are a private non profit rescue, we do not get tax dollars or free vet care, we are solely supported by donations and adoption fees.

Our adoption fees are as follows: $150-$800 depending on age and breed(s)

* On adoption day:
For Cats: you only need a collar and current ID tag.
For Dogs: you must provide your own collar, leash, ID tag with your information on it and harness if desired. We highly suggest you also have on hand canned pumpkin and plain Greek yogurt, if there will be any food change, to help control loose stools. We can provide sizing information for supplies. We also require the purchase of 6 months heartworm prevention medications, so they do not miss a dose or require you have a vet appointment set up to get this from your own vet. Flea/Tick prevention will be current upon delivery and then you will need to purchase their next dose of your preferred method. You can purchase topicals at any pet store or online until you can get into your vet or we can purchase Bravecto a 3 month dose to bring with us for you, at your cost.
