Apsara, UChicago's classical Indian dance RSO, is excited to open sign-ups for our 2019 spring show! Our show will most likely be on June 1st at Logan, however, this is subject to change.

Our theme for this year is Yatra, a Sanskrit word that is directly translated to mean 'path' or 'journey'. Through our show, we would like to depict the incredible journey that is life, where we move from one stage to the next, maturing at each stage of life. We will be exploring six stages of life through dance - birth, childhood, youth, adulthood, old age, and death and rebirth. Each performance in the show will serve as an individual narrative piece depicting one particular stage of life and showing the internal growth that occurs and relationships cultivated during that stage of life.

We welcome dancers of all backgrounds and experiences! Please read the brief summaries and specifications of each act and note the timeline the acts will be using. Once we gauge interest we will reach out with first meeting information.
