SCYA Player Code of Conduct
All parents and players will be required to sign this Code of Conduct for each season of play.

The essential elements of character building and ethics in youth sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and good citizenship. The highest potential of sports is achieved when competition reflects these “Six Pillars of Character.” Therefore, I agree to:

  1. Play for Fun!
  2. Work hard to improve your skills.
  3. Represent your school with Pride
  4. Prioritize schoolwork and family responsibilities above sports activities
  5. Learn teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline. Be kind and respectful to all teammates and the opposing team.
  6. Be on time for practices and games and give it your all while you're there.
  7. Learn the rules and play by them. Always show good sportsmanship.
  8. Respect your coach, your teammates, your parents, your teacher, your opponents, and officials
  9. Always speak to everyone with respect. No belittling, taunting, rudeness, or profane language.
  10. Never argue with the official. If you have a concern about a call, take it to your coach and let them handle it using the appropriate channels.
