New England Local Masters Swimming Committee (NELMSC)

Information regarding the nomination and selection process for CONTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

1. The purpose of this award is to recognize one individual for outstanding contributions to Masters Swimming during the year preceding the year in which the award is presented.

2. The criteria for the award are as follows:

a. The nominee held NELMSC membership during the year under consideration.

b. The nominee has demonstrated outstanding contributions to NELMSC, such as support and leadership, recruitment of members, program development, and / or promotion of Masters Swimming at the club, local, or national level(s) during the year under consideration.

3. Nominations and Selection:

a. There shall be no more than one (1) award presented in a given year.

b. A nomination announcement shall be published in the NELMSC newsletter and displayed on the New England Masters website: https://www.nelmsc.org/awards and the New England Masters Swimming Social Media pages including Facebook and Instagram

c. Any NELMSC member or club may make a nomination by providing to the NELMSC Awards and Recognition Chair a written statement based on the above criteria by the published deadline. *Nominations MUST INCLUDE contact information for both the nominee and the nominator.

d. The NELMSC A&R chair and committee as designated, shall make the selection prior to the first meeting following the nomination deadline.

e. The award shall be announced at the Annual NELMSC Awards and HOF Induction Celebration held each year on the Sunday of the last weekend of September.
