If you would like to join the Independent Aesthetic Practitioners Register (IAP), please complete this membership form.
We need the information below to confirm that you are a real person and a genuine practitioner. This helps keep the register safe, credible, and effective when engaging with councils, MPs/MSPs, and other stakeholders.
Important eligibility point (please read):
The IAP Register is for independent non-medic practitioners.
If you are currently registered with a statutory healthcare regulator (for example: NMC, GMC, GDC, GPhC, HCPC), you cannot join at this time.
This is not a judgement on individuals. The IAP exists specifically to represent and advocate for independent non-medic practitioners, and we must keep this membership category clear.
What “independent non-medic” means:
Independent non-medic means you are not currently registered with a statutory healthcare regulator and you practise beauty and/or aesthetic treatments independently.
Prescribers (and recommendations welcome):
If you are a prescriber who is happy to work with independent practitioners, we would like to hear from you. We are creating an IAP prescriber list that members will be able to access, to help set up safe working relationships.
If you are not a prescriber but you know a prescriber who is open to working with IAP members, please ask them to contact us:
Email:
info@uk-iap.co.ukWhatsApp: 07538 044569
There is a small fee for prescribers to join the list. We are open about this because the IAP is self-funded and needs funding to keep the work going. Prescribers who join the list are also likely to gain new working relationships, as many members are actively looking for reliable prescribers.
Data and privacy:
We only collect what we need to confirm genuine membership and to contact you for member updates and campaigning actions when needed. We do not sell or share member data. We are registered with the UK ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office).
Support:
The IAP is here to help independent practitioners with issues relating to regulation, councils, licensing, and enforcement. If you are being pressured, reported, treated unfairly, or you need support to prepare for licensing and compliance, we can help.
Over the coming weeks, we are building a more structured support system, including access to IAP-friendly prescribers, suppliers, recommended websites, and practical guidance.
WhatsApp group:
We strongly recommend joining our WhatsApp community (optional). This is where we are most active and where we can offer the best advice privately.
How we are funded (and why donations matter):
The IAP is completely self-funded. We do not receive industry sponsorship, insurer funding, or external grants. As the register has grown beyond what was originally expected, we now have ongoing weekly costs (currently around £200 per week) to keep everything running.
Membership remains free. However, unless we receive donations, we cannot afford the weekly running costs long-term. We may introduce a membership fee only once regulation is more settled, but for now we believe people should be able to access help and support without being priced out, particularly in difficult financial times.
If you are in a position to support the work, any donation, no matter how small, is genuinely appreciated. Monthly contributions are equally helpful. If you cannot donate, please do not worry: we still want you to join and we will still support you.
UK-wide membership:
It does not matter whether you are based in England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland. We are here to support independent practitioners across the UK.
