Apply to MTI's Summer Transportation Institute at San José State University
High school students who live in the San José, California area can learn about transportation careers through a free, three-week on-campus session at San José State University. The Summer Transportation Institute introduces students to principles of transportation systems development, construction, management, technology, intermodal systems, and environmental impact. Students come away understanding the career opportunities in the transportation industry, and they are encouraged to pursue college degrees that prepare them for transportation careers.

Students have described the program as a “once-in-a-lifetime experience.” A previous participant from Fremont High School in Sunnyvale, CA said, “The class was more than I imagined and surpassed all my expectations! The class lectures…were interesting. The projects and field trips were awesome!”

The course qualifies for three FREE college credits in environmental studies through San José State University. Students must be able to attend the entire three-week course. Printed copies of offical transcripts sent by mail have a processing fee of approximately $3.00 per copy. Online access to transcripts is free.
