D2L Learning Community - Website Feedback Form
Thank you for agreeing to provide feedback about our D2L Learning Community (name may change).  Please keep in mind that this pilot version is still under development; it is incomplete as far as tutorials go, and we will continue to add to the collection.  However, we would like to get your initial reaction/ input into the basic design and content before we launch the working version during Flex week.  Please provide input regarding the appropriate collection of tutorials (“faculty/staff” OR “student”), depending on your role at the college.

Specifically, we would like your answer to the following questions.   We would like your input as soon as possible (naturally!) so that we can start revising, adding to, and finalizing the content before it launches during FLEX week!  Thank you; thank you!

1) Keep in mind that this is probably NOT the final design, merely the basic navigation concept.  Given the “rough” design, do the navigation links make sense?  Are they labeled logically?  Is it easy to get to the information you need? What changes would you make?
2) You will notice that we have included quite a variety of tutorials -- screen capture, screen shots, scripted YouTube videos, PDF, etc.  Which format do you prefer, or do you think it’s a good idea to present the same information different ways (for example, as a video, along with a printed PDF)?  Additional comments on this subject are welcome!
3) What, in your opinion, is the ideal length of a video tutorial?  (Give a range, such as 2-3 minutes, or under 5 minutes.)
4) In your opinion, what is the optimal number of pages for a printed tutorial?  Again, please give a range such as 2-4 pages, or under 5 pages.
5) Should all tutorials follow the same format, or is it okay to collect and publish tutorials in different formats from different sources?  Please explain your rationale.
6) For the Instructors:  If you could include only three topics for tutorials for INSTRUCTORS, what would they be?
7) For the Instructors:  If you could include only three topics for tutorials for YOUR STUDENTS, what would they be?
8) For the Students:  If you could include only three topics for D2L tutorials for students, what would they be?
9) Please comment on anything else -- any of the individual topics/ tutorials that are particular helpful (or not), any “gaps” that jump out at you, anything else that should be included!
10) For Instructors only:  As part of our future plans, we will be linking to the 4CD D2L Learning Community site (which is set up within D2L and requires a login).  You can access this site on the D2L “My Home” page under your “Student” button.  This site includes information about best practices, pedagogy, links to additional resources, and discussion forums where online instructors can ask questions and share information.  How valuable do you think this site will be for you?  What else would you like to see included?  What do we need to do in order to make sure it is USED on a regular basis?
