Research for Greener Surgery Conference 2024

Following the success of our inaugural Research for Greener Surgery Conference last year (attended by a multidisciplinary audience of 290 delegates), we are running a second conference on 17 December 2024. Please join us to hear from key opinion leaders in sustainability, learn about sustainability research you can get involved in, and share ideas around innovation in sustainability, including a global perspective.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Abstract submissions will be considered for POSTER presentations. We invite the submission of abstracts on the theme of ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY, in operating theatres or in the wider hospital setting. You can submit your abstract to one of these FOUR categories:
1. Reducing the environmental impact of anaesthesia
2. Reducing the environmental impact of waste
3. Reducing the use of energy
4. Reducing the environmental impact within the wider hospital setting (for example studies aiming to prevent surgical procedures or reducing length of stay of patients in hospitals).
Accepted abstracts will be presented as a poster at a national conference and presenters will be required to register for the conference.
Deadline for abstract submission is 5 pm on Friday, October 25th, 2024.
Please note that abstract submitted after the deadline will not be considered for poster presentation.
ORAL PRESENTATIONS
The top three abstracts will be invited for oral presentation on the main stage. Authors will also be invited to submit these abstracts to the journal, Impact Surgery.
POSTER PRIZES
A £50 prize and certificate will be awarded to the best poster in each category, as judged on the day. Authors will also be invited to submit these abstracts to the journal, Impact Surgery.
