Cruise Leaders: Sidney & Lynn MorrisContact Info: firstname.lastname@example.orgType of Cruise-out: Stern tied to dock, rafted up
Over Labor Day weekend we are hosting a cruise to Napa Valley Yacht Club which is within walking distance of downtown Napa (approximately a mile). Information about the club is at https://www.sites.google.com/site/napanvyc/home
This cruise was first opened for sign up in October of 2018 (started planning early to get the holiday weekend). Since then a couple of people have dropped out and there is now limited dock space available. We have 10 spaces for SYC. We may be able to get additional dock space (we are not sure yet), so if you are interested sign up even if the list appears full.
Friday night The Napa Valley YC will have dinner available for our cruisers. Saturday will be a free day to go wine tasting. We have found a tasting pass (can be used for 1 year) for the downtown area which will give you a tasting at half price. After a day of tasting in downtown, it will be fun to share our discoveries before our pot luck BBQ on the deck. Please bring an appetizer, side dish or dessert to accompany the BBQ.
Sunday you can continue your wine tasting with your tasting pass or shop! The Oxbow Public Market was a favorite shopping and restaurant stop, if you are craving oysters, Hog Island Oyster Bar is right there in the Market Place among many others. Check out Oxbow public market. Be back in time to then have dinner (heavy appetizers) and more wine at the Napa General Store.
Important Note: For this cruise the club has to pre-pay for the dock space and the fees are not refundable. Therefore, you need to be aware that by signing up for this cruise you are committing to pay for your slip fees whether you attend or not. If after signing up and you find can't attend, if the cruise leader can fill your space with someone else, great, but if not, you will be charged for your reserved slip fees. Dock fees are $45/night
Misc Cruise notes: There is a fixed bridge at the head of the Napa River before the yacht club. Charted fixed clearance is 59ft, 7 inches. You will also need to open the Mare Island bridge to go up the river from Vallejo.
Some may want to make a reservation for an overnight stop on the way up (or back). The labor day weekend is the Jazz Cup in Benicia and slips in Vallejo or Benicia may be full so making plans early is recommended.
NVYC has restrooms (but not showers) available for visiting boats.
All docking is stern in side tied to other boats.
Members who signed up in Oct 2018: Your prior sign up entry was transferred to this new sheet. However, this sheet has questions that we did not have in October, The default new question entries were done as arrival Sat, depart Mon, 0 for Fri dinner, 2 for Sat, 2 for Sunday. Please inform the cruise leader if you want to update your information from the default values.
Please sign up below. If you are blacktopping, just type blacktop under the boat name.
