Description (optional)
GOAL
The goal of the Foundations Grant Committee is to support and enhance the Fine Arts departments at Cedarburg High School by providing additional funding for proposed projects, programs and/or supplies.
DEADLINES
Please plan ahead for any grant needs. To ensure our Board volunteers have sufficient time to review and fairly consider all submitted grant requests, online applications must be received with online approval from the CHS Activity Director by the 20th of each month for following month dispersal. Grant requests submitted later than the 20th of the month will be held until the next grant submission cycle.
ELIGIBILITY
All foundations grant applications must be submitted by a Fine Arts instructor at CHS or the Advisor of a CHS Fine Arts extra-curricular activity. The Fine Arts at CHS are defined as Band/Instrumental Music, Choral Arts, Theater Arts (Drama & Technical) and Visual Arts.
REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
1. Completed grant applications should be submitted online via this form.
2. Once submitted, the grant request will be routed to the CHS Activity Director, who will review carefully to ensure grant requests are appropriate in the context of school budgeting, priorities, and federal and state regulations.
3. Once approved by the CHS Activity Director, the grant request will automatically be forwarded to the CHS FAB Foundation Grants & Scholarships Chairperson. Grant requests will then be reviewed by the Foundation's Grant Committee for any changes/additional information needed, and then submitted to the FAB Board for final consideration of approval, as appropriate.
4. Grant amounts are budgeted and voted on by the FAB Board on the second Monday of each month.
5. The FAB Foundation Grants & Scholarships Chairperson will submit the approval, which will auto-generate an e-mail approval notification sent to the CHS staff applicant(s) of the grant determination within the week of each Board meeting vote.
FOUNDATION GRANT GUIDELINES
• Grants provide or assist with funds to help sustain and improve CHS Fine Arts Programs.
• Grants are provided to fund Fine Arts Program needs in the form of tangible materials and experience needs for the students directly.
• Grants should provide for sustained program improvement for the greatest number of students possible as indicated below:
o Most grant funds should be targeted toward equipment, instruments, uniforms/robes/costumes and other tangibles that enhance the Programs themselves for students over multiple years.
o Some grants may be used to provide supplemental funding of student experiences in the form of admission fees and tickets for special events, master classes or workshops with field experts in the Fine Arts.
o Grants should cover those tangibles and/or experiences NOT supported by current, planned school district funding.
o FAB may support tangibles, special projects, exhibits or events in multiple ways such as funding, volunteer assistance, and/or community awareness to enhance students' exposure to the arts. Grants are not intended to cover recurring costs such as subscriptions, staffing that should be budgeted for events/productions, and other routine budget items, etc.
• FAB grants must comply with federal and state regulations governing the school district and should not cover expenses and materials normally budgeted by the school district such as staffing and regular or overtime payment of CHS staff for Fine Arts events and student transportation.
• FAB grant requests must be submitted for consideration according to the process timing outlined by FAB, and before the need or event occurs. FAB will not provide expense reimbursement for events or purchases that have occurred in the past.
The mission of the Fine Arts Boosters of Cedarburg High School is to support and enhance the Fine Arts departments at Cedarburg High School by providing financial support, volunteer assistance and community awareness of the Visual Arts, Vocal Music, Instrumental Music and Theater curriculum and activities at CHS.
