Salt Lake Acting Company’s mission is to engage and enrich the community through brave contemporary theatre. Founded in 1970, SLAC is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 professional theatre dedicated to producing, commissioning, and developing new works and to supporting a community of professional artists. SLAC has been nationally recognized by the Shubert Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and the Edgerton Foundation, among others. SLAC operates under a SPT Actors Equity Association contract and is a Constituent Member of Theatre Communications Group (a national organization for non-profit professional regional theatres), and the National New Play Network (a national alliance of non-profit professional theatres that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays).

Salt Lake Acting Company stands in solidarity with Black Lives Matter and those who demand justice and equality for our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. We acknowledge that we must do better as a theater company and a society to combat the horrific injustices endured by these communities throughout our history.

Salt Lake Acting Company’s Wardhouse sits on the traditional and unceded land of the Ute, Paiute, Goshute and Shoshone Tribes, colonially known as Salt Lake City. We recognize the historic and enduring relationships between Indigenous people and their ancestral territories, and honor the Indigenous stewards past, present, and future of this land. This acknowledgment is a small example of our dedication to anti-racist practices, expressed in solidarity with those working to dismantle the ongoing legacies of settler colonialism and white supremacy.
