If your child has been interested in playing an instrument, the opportunity to start lessons on these instruments is about to begin! Your child has been learning the basics of music to get them ready to play a band/orchestra instrument next year.

Now, it’s up to you and your child to decide what your top 3 choices are for an instrument. While we try to give students their first choice, they may end up with their second or third choice based on availability and balance.

Students will find out in September what instrument they will be playing. To play an instrument, they have to be in good academic standing and must commit to playing for the entire school year. They will start lessons in September.

Lessons will occur as "pull outs" on a rotational basis once per six day cycle, meaning that the time and day they are pulled out of class will change to minimize impact on the same class. Lessons will be from 30-40 minutes.  Students will also attend a large group rehearsal once per cycle.  Your child will be responsible for attending lessons, rehearsals and practicing assignments at home.  There will be evening concerts held and attendance is required.
