Local Political Process - How does it work where you live?
How does the political process work where you live? In particular, we are interested in finding out if local party committees exist in your area? What kind of power do they have? What decisions are they responsible for making?

Is your area dominated by the Republicans, Democrats or neither? In other words, does one party control what does or does not get done in your area? *
What is the structure of your county/town committee? (e.g., How many people sit on it? etc.) *
What are the responsibilities? *
Do they fulfill their responsibilities?  If no, what do they do? *
Does your committee have District Leaders? *
Who are the party chairs in your area? *
Do District Leaders have a lot of power in your area? Can you describe to us what kind of responsibilities these individuals have? *
Do Party Chairs have a lot of power in your area? Can you describe to us what kind of responsibilities these individuals have? *
Describe the process needed for individuals to get on their local county committee (e.g., petitioning deadlines, signatures required, etc.) *
Are there any other people in your area who have a lot of power (e.g., religious leaders, business leaders, etc.)? If so, would you kindly provide us with their names and roles? *
If you had all the money in the world, what strategy would you use to restore power to your community? Obviously, this is not a simple question to answer but whatever advice you can offer, would be greatly appreciated.
