Encouraging collaboration between Spanish and Swiss foodtech companies 

Foodtech is a key industry in Spain with more than 30,000 Spanish companies that export food and drink and are currently undergoing a transformation towards digitalization, innovation and sustainability across the entire agri-food value chain.

Switzerland is a pioneer of the foodtech industry, with hundred of startups founded over the last years, 19 major food and nutrition companies and more than 30 incubators, accelerators, research centres and universities that empower and drive food innovation. 

Against this backdrop, this webinar will feature pitches by seven Spanish foodtech startups and will showcase the strengths of the Spanish foodtech ecosystem as well as its potential synergies with Switzerland.

10.10-10.15h CET | What are the potential synergies between the Swiss and Spanish foodtech ecosystems? Juan Díez Gibson - Economic and Trade Counsellor of the Spanish Embassy in Bern

10.15-10.20h CET | How can Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley contribute to the cooperation between Spain and Switzerland in foodtech?  Katarzyna (Kash) Winek -  Head of Innovation Infrastructure and Global Engagement at Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley

10.20-11.20h CET | Pitches by the six Spanish startups (each of them will have five minutes for pitching followed by five minutes for questions and answers):

  1. Sanygran. Extruded food products made of legumes and cereals as substitute for meat.
  2. Cocoon Bioscience. Cost-effective production of high-value bioactive proteins and specialized enzymes for food (cellular agriculture) and healthcare (gene therapies).
  3. Omnivorus. Healthy snacks and substitutes for meat, cocoa and other food products from proteins based on algae and vegetable fish.
  4. BioMixing. Accelerated generation of bioreactors, with application in the Biotech and Foodtech industries.
  5. Gimme Sabor. Quality ingredients from sustainable crops.
  6. Brava Drinks. Artisanal, healthy and low-sugar soft drink made from premium kombucha through slow fermentation.
