CONSTELLATION LEADER APPLICATION

Constellations offer opportunities for students to build communities across residence halls, class years, identities and interests. Through alumni & trustee events, outings into New York City, and peer-to-peer mentoring and advice, students can learn to navigate Barnard, build and strengthen networks of support, and connect with other students and alumni. Through Constellations, we hope students will develop a sense of community and belonging, engage NYC, and explore new perspectives, interests, and ideas.

We aim to hire three Constellation Leaders (CL's) for each of the seven Constellations. The CL's guide their Constellation groups through service projects, plan social and academic programs, and maintain an online community specific to their group. CLs serve as leaders and informal peer-mentors, helping new students navigate Barnard and New York City. They plan events and programs for their respective Constellations each semester, as well as annual all-Constellation events. Through these networks and lively Facebook pages, CL's strive to create a supportive community by connecting students with each other, and with alumni.
