Award Category Descriptions
At Your Service:
Awarded to a Washington County retail or service business for undertaking actions that generates customer loyalty and satisfaction.
Non-Profit Award:
Recognizes and honors a 501c3 organization with a Washington County based Board of Directors that provides exemplary services and/or programs. The recipient receives an unrestricted grant of $1,000, made possible by the Community Foundation of Washington County, Maryland.
Small Business of the Year Award (below 50 employees):
Awarded to a Washington County business that has demonstrated any or all of the following: product or service quality, job creation, innovation, strong community involvement, high standard in business practice, commitment to Washington County and the community.
Large Business of the Year Award (50+ employees):
Awarded to a Washington County business that has demonstrated any or all of the following: product or service quality, job creation, innovation, strong community involvement, high standard in business practice, commitment to Washington County and the community.
GenNext Presents Young Professional of the Year:
Awarded to a Washington County business person under the age of 40, who, during the last year, has demonstrated excellence in business, remains active in his/her community, while demonstrating leadership skills.
Washington Co. Business Person of the Year:
Awarded to a Washington County business person who, during the last year, has demonstrated excellence in business, enhanced the image of the business community and/or has provided superior service to business and the community as a whole.
