Year 9 Geography Field Trip 2022
South Maroubra Headland

Dear Parents and Carers,
Fieldwork is a compulsory component of the Stage 5 Geography course. In 2022, the HSIE department will undertake activities relating to the Environmental Change and Management unit of work. Students will travel to South Maroubra Headland where they will undertake a series of activities that will enrich their understanding of this unit of work.
Below is important information relating to the excursion:
Date: Friday 20th May 2022 (Term 2, Week 4)
Time: 8:45am - 3:00pm
Venue: South Maroubra Headland
Cost: The cost of the excursion has been applied to Term 2 School Fees.
Dress: Students are permitted to only wear College sports uniform and College cap.
Requirements: Please bring a clipboard, pen, refillable water bottle, camera, raincoat (if applicable) and sunscreen. Students must wear appropriate footwear to walk long distances.
It is important students bring their own food and drink for the duration of the day. There is no opportunity to purchase food on the day. Any decision to cancel the event will be made by 6.30am via the Waverley College wet weather line. Additional notice will be sent via student email. Note, a cancellation will only happen in the event of extreme weather.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Students who have elected to catch the bus to the venue: (via a Google Forms document email) will be required to arrive at school by 8:30am and wait in the Centenary Quad. The bus departs at 8.45am. Students will leave South Maroubra Beach at 3:00pm and take the bus back to Waverley College. The bus will arrive at school by 3:15pm.
Students who have not elected to catch the bus will need to make their own way to the venue and arrive at Byrne Reserve South Maroubra Beach no later than 9:00am. A roll will be taken, Those students WILL BE DISMISSED from South Maroubra Beach at 3:00pm.
