Bloomington Press Club.
Job SummaryWe need an intelligent, resourceful, and passionate intern to help expand communication, marketing, and public relations strategies, including finding engaging and interactive ways to build community support. This internship will provide immeasurable hands-on experience that will deeply broaden your knowledge and portfolio in a nonprofit environment. We are seeking an intern who is not afraid to take a chance, while bringing new ideas to the table!
The stipend for the internship is $1,000 during the next academic year.
The work schedule will be arranged by the student and the agency. The candidate selected will be assigned a mentor to serve as adviser and liaison among the agency, the Press Club and the student. The mentor will hold an initial meeting with the student and agency representative(s) where the work schedule/working relationship will be established by late August 2023. The mentor and student will maintain contact as warranted throughout the internship.
At the end of the internship, the student will submit a final written report on the internship experience to the Press Club. They will also be asked to attend a Press Club meeting at the end of April 2024 to describe briefly the internship to the members.
Application deadline: Friday, June 30 at 5 p.m.
Notification of finalists will occur approximately one week after the deadline. After reviewing applications and interviewing finalists by mid-May, the Press Club Internship Committee will select the intern.
