Poetry Knows No Boundaries: A Marathon Read Around the World
When: May 22, 2018, 10am to 8pm
Where: The Muse Writers Center, 2200 Colonial Ave #3, Norfolk, VA 23517
Registration Contact: Sarah Richman,

While the government can keep people from physically entering the United States, poetry knows no boundaries. This is the sign up form for a marathon reading of poetry from writers in those banned countries, which will take place at The Muse Writers Center, from 10am to 8pm. Readers from around the community will take the stage to showcase international literature from places like Mexico, Venezuela, Syria, and Chad, and raise awareness of the immense beauty that is borne in
denigrated countries.

Readers will be scheduled at ten minute intervals between 10am and 8pm. Request your preferred hours below, and you will receive an email back to confirm which time slot you've secured. When you arrive to read, you will be asked to sign a waiver giving us permission to stream your reading live on Facebook.

When you arrive, a volunteer will show you where we are in the schedule, and what poem you will be reading. You will be put "in line" to read at the podium. When it's your turn, read until either the poem finishes or the volunteer directs you that your time is up, then step down from the podium and help yourself to some light refreshments. The Muse Writers Center is near Yorgo's Bagels, Plaza Del Sol Mexican restaurant, and The Belmont chophouse if you want to combine your reading experience with a meal.
