Read Across America Celebration '14

The Read Across America Celebration! (RAAC) derives from the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day which is usually celebrated on Dr. Seuss’ birthday. In 2011, three Gettysburg College students decided to extend this one-day celebration into a week-long program that includes a service-reading program, CUB Ballroom celebration, and a panel discussion. The goal of this event is to inform citizens and students on how they could promote literacy in their community, and to share the joy of reading to children. This year marks the third annual Read Across America Celebration!

I encourage you to consider participating in this year's RAAC! Please fill out the form below.
Volunteering for the RAAC involves leading literacy activities to children for 30 - 45 minutes at a school, daycare, preschool, or CUB Ballroom Celebration.

You will receive an email on Thursday, February 27, 9am that will have a link where you can sign up for your shift.
Shift sign-ups must be completed by Friday, February 28th, 5pm.

If you have any questions or concerns, email the Program Organizer - Rex Yin (yinra01@gettysburg.edu)
