Justified reasons for applying include paying an incorrect amount, paying twice, declaration of absence or ending of studies. You can apply for refund of the FSHS health care fee if you study in two universities and you have paid it as part of the membership fee of another student union. The doctoral student membership fee does not include the FSHS fee.

All the refund applications must be submitted:-on 30th of September (for autumn semester refunds) Applications for autumn semester will not be processed anymore.-on 31st of January (for spring semester refunds).
Applications submitted after the deadline or with insufficient information will not be processed. All the refunds are made after the deadline, when they've been processed and the information has been added to the system. In case you have not received the refund in 30 days, please contact Secretary General.
In order to receive the refund,1) send a receipt of the membership fee payment/ bank account statement2) one must remove the academic year sticker from the student card. You can mail your student card to the Student Union or bring your card to the service office. Student must present the card to the Student Union, there's no exception to this. In case you'd like to have your card back, please attach an envelope with the card. NOTE: A student card with the payment functionality cannot be mailed in case you want it back. It must be brought to the VYY office in person!
You can apply for refund of the FSHS health care fee in the student union where you last paid the fee. When applying for the refund you must provide a payment receipt or a copy of transactions as proof of the order in which you have paid the membership fees of the different student unions. If a basic degree student graduates before the registration period ends in autumn (=before the 15th of September), they may apply for refund of their membership fee. If a basic degree student graduates before the registration period ends in spring (= before the 31st of January) they may apply for refund of the spring semester part of their membership fee.
Please fill out your name and bank account details carefully. In case you do not have a Finnish bank account, please fill out your full name (as in account details), name of the bank, branch name and address. We recommend using the Finnish bank account in case that is possible.
Exemption from membership fee can be granted by the VYY Secretary General and, in unclear cases, by the VYY board. You can appeal a decision made by the Secretary General by presenting a written appeal to the executive board within 14 days of being informed of the decision. You cannot appeal the decision of the executive board.
