Hydra Young Company is a creative theatre club for young people from West Dunbartonshire. We welcome any young person between the ages of 13-19 who is interested in exploring theatre and performance making. You do not have to have any prior experience, just an interest in making theatre and performance with other young people, and a sense of fun and openness. Hydra Young Company is free to attend and everyone is welcome.
For 2026 we are starting an exciting and new 2.5 year long project called TILT.
TILT will involve Hydra Young Company collaborating with another international young company via post, a bit like pen pals, to create an original theatre show. The result of this project will be a new performance shared with the public.
The project will run in 3 phases, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3. At the end of Phase 1 & 2 there will be a sharing for family/friends of where we have got to in the process, and at the end of Phase 3 there will be the premiere of the complete work for a wider public audience.
The project will be run by Hydra Arts Artistic Director Peter McMaster, in collaboration with Murray Wason. Both artists have many years experience in creating and touring professional theatre performances nationally and internationally.
The project will run via weekly workshops on a Thursday between 5-7pm.
The dates for each term in Year 1 are as follows:

May, 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
Sep 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th,
