Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) takes place every May and is a time to celebrate the culture, vibrancy, and history of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in the United States. For the last three decades, the City of Los Angeles hosted a series of community events to recognize the contributions of these communities. In 2017, we continue this City tradition and we hope that you can join us to celebrate:

“FRESH OFF THE BOAT DAY” | May 2, 2017
To kick off APAHM, the City of Los Angeles will be declaring "Fresh Off the Boat Day," in recognition of the hit ABC sitcom based on chef Eddie Huang's best-selling memoir and takes a look at the lives of immigrants pursuing the American Dream.

HONORING HON. MIKE WOO & DR. MIKE HONG | May 30, 2017
We will close out APAHM with the special recognition of two pioneers and civic leaders in the AAPI community: Honorable Mike Woo, the first AAPI Councilmember in the City of LA, and Dr. Mike Hong, a philanthropist and community leader.
