Request edit access technology grant - spring 2023
Background:  The City of Indianapolis technology grant program - administered by the Indy Public Safety Foundation and Downtown Indy, Inc. - is designed to support the City's community violence reduction efforts by providing financial assistance to enable the purchase, installation, and setup of more IMPD remotely-accessible cameras in and around local businesses and commercial properties throughout Marion County.  Cameras connected via are owned and operated by the business or individual, but provide live-stream video access to IMPD.

Eligibility:  To be considered for a grant, an applicant must be a local business or commercial property owner. Applicants may apply for up to $2,500, all of which must be used for the purchase, installation, and/or set up of capable cameras (list linked here).  Applicants may apply for multiple rounds, but shall only receive a maximum of two $2,500 awards annually. Applicants must be located within Marion County, Indiana and within an IMPD service district.  If awarded, applicants must work with a integrator/installer - a list can be provided upon request.  Additionally:
  • Preference will be given to locations within Qualified Census Tracts (''QCT") or within a ZIP Code with a COVID-19 Impact Score greater than zero (see SAVI's COVID-19 Impact Score).
  • Preference will be given to businesses and local properties designated as "high-impact" by IMPD, IPSF, Downtown Indy, or the City of Indianapolis.
  • Every effort will be made to invest in a robust cross-section of Marion County stakeholders, across the six (6) IMPD districts.
  • Applicants cannot be government agencies, citywide organizations, universities, hospitals, or non-local organizations.
