Subject Selection Form 2021
Selection Guidelines:
Every student chooses 6 IB DP subjects. You must choose 1 subject from each group. You can choose 3 subjects at Higher Level (HL), and 3 subjects at Standard Level (SL) OR you can choose 4 subjects at HL and 2 subjects at SL. When making choices you should consider:
Your areas of interest and what you are good at;
What you would like to study at university;
University prerequisites (see note below);
Advice from your teachers and others who know you well.
The main difference is that HL subjects cover more content, are taught for more hours (HL: 6hrs./wk.; SL: 4hrs./wk.) and have tougher grading criteria. As HL subjects you should choose subjects you enjoy, subjects you are good at and/or subjects you may need for university (e.g. if you want to study medicine you should take Bio HL). In addition, all students take Theory of Knowledge as an additional subject, and work to meet the requirements of the Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) program, and write an Extended Essay (EE).
Note: Choose 1 subject from Group 6 other than you have chosen from Group 3 and 4.
