This is the registration form for Summer Sports Term 1, 2019. Please take time to read the form carefully, fill in the registration form and return to the school by Tuesday 12th February. You can either fill out the form online (preferred option), or a hard copy which should be returned to the office.
Please fill out a separate form for each child.
As you can see there are sporting opportunities for all age groups. The emphasis is on learning new skills and having fun, however children do perform better with coaching so if you have some time to help with coaching any of these sports please let me know. You do not have to have had previous experience. We can help you with rules, equipment and coaching tips. All we ask for is your time, a little patience and lots of enthusiasm. Where possible we will try to form a team and if we can't , we will suggest an alternative sporting code for your child.
Do not pay any registration fees at this stage. We will invoice you once we know if we can make a team. We strive to ensure financial hardship is not a barrier to children taking part in sport. With this in mind we are more than happy to set up a payment plan where you can drip feed fees. If you would like to do this then please have a chat to our office ladies Olivia or Allison, or to me in the library.

Cricket (Years 0 - 6)
Wakefield School enters three different grades of cricket, Kiwi & Incrediball Superstar cricket and Primary Hardball. All our teams play under the umbrella of the Wanderers Cricket Club. This gives our players the benefit of expert coaching from Wanderers Cricket club and sets them up for intermediate years.
Kiwi and Incrediball cricket play with a softer ball and plastic equipment. All equipment is supplied by the Nelson Cricket Association. The emphasis is on learning skills through fun based games. This level is suitable for players from 0-6 years who are beginners or who have limited experience. Teams are mixed gender and sessions are 45 to 60 minutes long. All sessions take place within the Saxton Cricket Oval.Venue: Saxton Cricket OvalWhen : Saturday Mornings, 9.00 - 10.00am or 10.30 - 11.30am (approx)Cost: $25 (TBC)Season Duration: Saturday 16th February to (TBC)

As it is played with a hardball and wooden bats it is more suitable for experienced players.Teams are mixed gender and consist of 9 players. Ideally we like our hardball cricketers to have progressed through the ranks from Kiwi and Incrediball cricket but we do select teams based on individual ability as well as age and friendship groups.
