Environmental Awareness Day
Environmental Awareness Day will be held on Saturday, November 20th from 10am - 4pm at the north end of the Chatsworth Train Station. This will be a day for all community members - young and old - to learn how they can be involved in their community beautification, environmental contribution, volunteerism, and making their community a better place to live and enjoy.
There will be booths for environmental volunteer opportunities, education, participation; environmental demonstrations such as how bees are good for the environment, the best plants for our arid weathered tc.; food trucks; activity tables such as rock painting which will go to Limekiln Rock Garden, Recycle art table where we will judge the best art project, etc.; Game tables; Music; Speakers from the city; Cinnabon the Environmental Donkey for pictures and feeding; Face Painting; etc.
This is the first of many - one per every quarter - and it is designed to give you a fun day with family that educates us about things that will help us create a better community environmentally. Everyone should walk away with having at least one way they can involve themselves in the environmental community.
