Horses are big, unpredictable animals. We highly recommend all volunteers wear closed-toed shoes at all times when at the sanctuary. Wearing a helmet and closed-toed shoes is mandatory to ride a horse. Also, most of the cats at the sanctuary are feral and should not be picked up. Additionally, although we love dogs, they are not permitted on-site.

By completing and submitting this form and making an entry as a volunteer, participant, worker, visitor, etc., I hereby understand that injury to myself, my or another equine and my or another feline is a possibility no matter how careful the sponsors office, owner, managers, directors, volunteers or participants may be. I release February Star Sanctuary's insurance company, employees and volunteers from any expense, cause of action, damage, or claim of damage (including legal fees) due to any kind of injury or death of the aforementioned parties or any injury or death of any animal and/or loss, disappearance, theft, or damage to any property while in or upon the premises of Ausherman Road, Knoxville, Maryland 21758.
