WWTH Board Member: Expression of Interest
Thank you so much for your expression of interest! We hope you are as excited as we are as we continue to build our program and seek to expand. We are actively seeking experienced board members who have the time, passion and commitment to continue our growth as a young organization and who will assist in steering the organization towards an strong future by adopting sound governance, financial policies and insuring adequate resources to advance our mission. We are currently seeking people willing to make a two year commitment to as part of our working board. 

We are looking for board members who are:
  • Enthusiastic about increasing representation of women of African descent in the jewelry industry
  • Experienced with the 501(c)3 nonprofit structure
  • Ready to actively participate in helping WWTH grow as an organization through governance, hiring and more.
  • Skilled in one or more of the following areas: development, Human Resources, law and metal arts
  • Available 3-5 hours per month for a two year commitment.
WWTH is a nonprofit metalsmith training program that exists to identify, train, track and support young women of African descent who might not otherwise choose a career as a metalsmith. We offer opportunities for artistic equity, economic empowerment and access to a vocation which is very often traditionally unavailable to women, particularly marginalized women and girls both here and abroad. Please fill out this Expression of Interest before Dec. 15, 2022. We will interview shortlisted candidates and invite selected directors to join the board in January, 2023 for a 2 year term.
