Field Trips are Held Wednesdays through Fridays Beginning April 11th
Signing up for a Field Trip Is Easy in 3 Steps:
1. Check the Availability Calendar on the Web Page to Find Dates that Work for Your Group
2. Fill out the Request Form Below Requesting your Preferred Dates and Activities
3. We Will Contact you to Confirm the Details of Your Trip
*Due to the hands-on learning environment of these field trips, groups may need to be split into smaller units
This year after hearing from many previous visitors we are moving to simplify the FIeld Trip selection process. The 4 primary activity areas offered will be the same as last Spring but we will be using an all-inclusive model of pricing. Rather than select activities individually you will be able to select from 2 choices:
OPTION #1 - Strawberry Picking Only - $4 per Participant THIS OPTION NO LONGER AVAILABLE
OPTION #2 - All Activities (Listed Below) - $12 per Participant
PARENT OR ADULT PACKAGE - Gives an Accompanying Adult Access to All Activities Except Strawberry Picking - $7 per Adult
* Teachers & Aides - Groups are allowed 1 Teacher and 1 Aide per class of 25 Children at No Charge
The new all-inclusive price is a $2 discount from selecting items individually as in the past.
FIELD TRIPS INCLUDE:
Pick-Your-Own Strawberries - (Allow 30 minutes)Begins with a fun discussion of America’s favorite fruit, the benefits of locally grown foods and how to pick the perfect berry. Each participant will be able pick a 1 lb. pint basket to take home – additional baskets are $4.
Petting Farm - (Allow 30 minutes)Children love learning about our friendly farm animals that include miniature horses, sheep, several breeds of goats, dairy calf and rabbits. Lessons explain what they eat, their unusual teeth and other ways animals are unique from people.
Children’s Garden / Discovery Farm Tour - (Allow 30 minutes)From bees to worms, roots to blossoms, the all Children's Garden is a wonderful place for children and adults to learn about fresh healthy foods from the ground up - plus they all get to plant a sunflower or vegetable seed grow at home. We are expanding this activity with the addition of our new Discovery Farm area to learn how Farmers grow our food.
Farm Tour - (Allow 30 minutes)Climb aboard the tractor-pulled wagon ride for a tour of Discovery Farm at AGRIscapes, including a lively discussion of how food is now being grown in the center of some of the most populated cities in America.
Picnic Area and Tables - Available on a First-Come Basis without charge

WHEN ARE FIELD TRIPS HELD:'Spring on the Farm' Field Trips will be held beginning April 11th, Wednesdays - Fridays. Special arrangements are possible for larger groups, please inquire via e-mail.
HOW LONG IS A FIELD TRIP?Usually between 1 ½ - 2 hours but the length of time depends on the activities you choose to participate and if you will take a snack or lunch break. Picnic tables are provided on a first-come basis. We request that you arrive 15 minutes PRIOR to your reservation time to allow for check-in.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING?Buses and cars will have Free parking, directions and information will be provided in advance. Look for signs upon entering AGriscapes on South Campus Drive.
DO YOU REQUIRE LIABILITY WAIVER FORMS?Yes, ALL field trip participants including adults must fill out and return the Liability Waiver form that will be provided – one per family. Unfortunately we will not be able to allow those without the completed forms to participate. These may also be downloaded from the website.
WHAT METHODS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?Payment can be made with Cash, Check (Payable to the Cal Poly Pomona Foundation) or Credit Card. Refunds are not possible.
CAN WE PURCHASE ADDITIONAL STRAWBERRIES?Absolutely!. Very often parents and others accompanying field trips will pick and purchase additional Strawberries from the field. The price is $4 / pint.
WHAT ELSE IS AVAILABLE?Additional Pick-Your-Own crops are seasonably available including several types of vegetables and berries. Also the Cal Poly Farm Store offers a large selection of produce grown by students here on campus.
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?The Farm at AGRIscapes Outreach Center is located at 4102 S. University Dr. Pomona, CA 91768. Enter on South Campus Drive from the corner of Temple Avenue.
