The objective is to assist needy parishioners, or needy neighbors of parishioners, in the community by performing maintenance and repair projects at their residence (inside and outside) at no cost.

A “needy” person or family is either unable to afford such projects, or physically unable to perform such projects (elderly or disabled).  The “community” is any residence within 15 miles of St. Joseph Church.  A person or family does not have to be a member of the parish, or even Catholic.

Projects best suited for the HELP program are short-term that can be accomplished by a crew of volunteers in a few evenings or on a single Saturday.  Tasks may include carpentry, painting, flooring, small roof repairs, light plumbing, light electrical, tree trimming/removal, etc.  Long-term or complex/technical projects are not a good fit for HELP volunteers.

Projects will be evaluated and prioritized by the Missions Committee based on need, availability of volunteers, available funds, and other factors.  Emergency projects that pose a safety or security risk to the residents will be given priority.

Any St. Joseph parishioner may submit a HELP project request on behalf of themselves, another parishioner, or someone they know in the community.  Please provide as much of the following information as possible.  Requests will be treated in a confidential manner, respecting the dignity of all parties involved.
