A unique setting for special events, family gatherings, or business meetings, the Chief Uncas can accommodate small and large groups to explore the Susquehanna for a one of a kind experience.

Passengers can relax and enjoy the view from one of the vessel’s three seating areas as the boat quietly cruises along the 10 mile stretch of river known as Lake Clarke. Caterers and guests can utilize the vintage ice box to store their cold drinks and alcoholic beverages. The boat’s mid-ship saloon with pull up table is perfect for serving snacks and refreshments.

How many passengers can I bring?

The Chief Uncas can accommodate up to 24 seated passengers for a private guided tour where SNHA staff share the history of our historic vessel, stories of the special landscape, and lasting legacy of the Susquehanna River! Accommodations can be made for larger group cruises.

For a smaller group experience, up to 16 passengers can walk around and explore the Chief Uncas on a private cruise.

When are cruises available?

Memorial Day – Mid-October daytime and evening private cruises are available Wednesday - Sunday.

How do I secure a reservation?

A deposit of ½ the total cost must be paid to secure the reservation. The remaining balance must be paid before the scheduled tour. If the reservation is cancelled inside of 2 weeks of the tour, deposits will not be refunded.

What if it rains?

Boat experiences are weather dependent and our staff continuously monitors river and weather conditions. If conditions warrant cancellation, a member of our staff will contact you by email and by phone with advance notice for you to notify the other members of your group. We always offer the ability to schedule a back-up rain date in case your preferred date is cancelled. If your scheduled cruise cannot be rescheduled you will receive a full refund.

Can I bring small children?

Per US Coastguard recommendation children must be at least 6 months old to board the Chief Uncas.

Are their any requirements for boarding the Chief Uncas?

Passengers must be capable of navigating the boat ramp, dock, and boarding the vessel without assistance.
